What is a Virtual Health Improvement Practitioner (Virtual HIP)?

A Virtual Health Improvement Practitioner is not a General Practitioner, and does not replace your doctor appointments. The role of the Virtual HIP is to provide another accessible option to visit a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP). The Virtual HIP service offers additional support to the HIPs based in our general practices, but instead of face-to-face this is held online via a computer, phone, or other device.

A Virtual HIP appointment is not traditional therapy, but more solution focused, action orientated, and includes evidence-based tools and strategies, to help with stress management, anxiety, sleep, mood or lifestyle changes.

Your Virtual HIP will work closely with your GP, and other providers, to coordinate further support or referrals if required.
