Quality Improvement Coordinator – Clinical 0.6FTE

As our Quality Improvement Coordinator you will work across our organisation, ensuring quality improvement initiatives, and methodologies are implemented to improve and support primary healthcare delivery of services, both for our internal processes and practices and for our General Practice and Maori Health providers.  Providing quality oversight for clinical risk, complaints and incident management are key factors this role is required to undertake in a clinical context.

The Position

Responsible for leading our quality improvement initiatives and requirements across primary healthcare in Tai Tokerau.  The role will primarily be responsible for:

  • Leading Clinical Quality governance and improvement
  • Developing and implementing Quality Frameworks
  • Providing Clinical Quality oversight across all programmes and initiatives
  • Clinical Complaints and Incident Management
  • Providing quality oversight relating to compliance and risk
  • Privacy Officer responsibility

This role will report to the Director of Nursing, and will work from our Whangarei Office.

To be considered for this position you must have:

  • A relevant and current clinical qualification, with a post graduate qualification and training or experience in quality improvement.
  • Demonstrable experience in quality improvement in a senior role in healthcare
  • Proven interpersonal skills in developing constructive stakeholder relationships
  • Proven experience in complaint and incident management
  • Clinical experience that encompasses a broad understanding of clinical risk management with particular application to primary care.
  • A demonstrable understanding of the Privacy Act and its application.
  • Experience in the development of quality systems and processes that would support clinical practice in primary care.
  • Current unencumbered NZ drivers licence

Ideally you will have an understanding of population health, and experience working in the complexities of the primary healthcare environment.
